Digital Surgery by Nihil Nil

Radio City Music Hall - The women's washroom

Loved the washrooms at Radio City. Imagine the ladies in their fancy dresses smoking cigarettes and laughing with dark red lipstick.

Hello Little Baloo

Loving this D.I.Y. book. Cuuuuuute. You can buy blank board books online an 8x8" one on amazon.com). You can draw directly onto the pages. Or you can do what she did and design each page, print it on adhesive label paper, trim it to size and stick it onto the board book. See more pics of the book here.

Sexy back

Rethink Communications recently launched an innovative new form of media: backvertising. Waxed out of a man's excessively hairy back were the words Parissa Wax Strips. The man paraded at a busy beach passing out free samples. Beach-goers laughed, received product demonstrations and lined-up to take photos. The stunt was covered extensively on radio and online media.

Light Show...

Chuck Anderson of No Pattern does some really nice things with glows.

All of your one stop shopping needs, for you and your sister wives.

FLDS Crafts and Fashions

*Side note: I actually enjoy the art direction in non-art directed images and websites. There is a certain charm and brutality to how (assuming) non-creatives choose to portray their brand/product/lifestyle, and also reflects a general philosophy behind their organization (all models having their heads cropped off gives a subtle unease to all of these images of dresses).

How Many... 101!

Here are some pretty neat type effects to try.

The Uniform Project.

For The Uniform Project, Sheena Matheiken is wearing the same dress everyday for an entire year all in the name of charity and sustainable fashion. Each day, she "reinvents the dress with layers, accessories and all kinds of accouterments".

Donations raised by this year-long project will be benefit the Akanksha Foundation, a grassroots charity based in Mumbai, whose contributions go to fund uniforms and other school expenses for children in the slums of India.

InDesign Resource

If your ever wondering how do I do ... in InDesign, I'm sure you'll find it here.
I found a great video series tutorial on using long document features here covering the book function and how to use the TOC and Index generation features of InDesign. (It's actually 5 posts but the link goes to the first installment)

. Happy Friday .

Images are made by finding old photographs of places, printing them out, and then holding the print up in the modern day location that the original photograph was taken.
